You have a piece of artwork that requires scanning. Why do you need to scan it? Are you planning to upload it to your website or create a print that could be used for various purposes? Is the artwork small or large? Will it fit in a flatbed scanner (typically smaller than 8”x12”) or is it large and needs to be scanned using the photographic process? These are just a few questions that need to be answered before I can begin and before I can estimate the cost to provide you with a file suitable for your intended use.
Once the questions are answered, the artwork must reach me. DKP Print Scan is located along the lakefront, close to Loyola University. Upon receiving the artwork, I will proceed to scan it, creating the appropriate digital file for your specific purpose. If you require a fine art print, DKP Print Scan can fulfill that need. The entire process can be completed in as little as one day, or it may take several days, depending on the complexity of the task.
My rate for scanning is $100 per hour. The average price for a Betterlight scan of a 24”x30” unframed artwork is 1.5 hours. The cost per piece decreases as you have more pieces of similar sizes, since the setup, which takes time, doesn’t need to be repeated. Scanning with a Sony DSLR, the rate remains the same, but the image recording time is about half.
You can reach me through the Contact Form or my telephone number, which is on the form. We can discuss your project.
